Goin' on a trip

This week we are going to be looking at Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. The plot is based on going on a pilgrimage. A pilgrimage is a trip to a religious place. Tell about either a funny childhood trip that you have been on or about a trip you would like to go on some day.

When I turn forty, I am going to Scotland to play The Old Course. A buddy and I have been planning this trip for a year now. I can't wait. Only 8 and 1/2 years ago. We are going to golf every day while our wives go shopping or whatever they want to do. It's going to be awesome.

I would like to go on a trip to California. THe reason is i really really get out of the east coast at all. The beaches and warm weather are enough reason to go but just getting away from home would be nice. Next year year for my business class, if we perform well in is huge competition we could make to nationals and nationals is in California. So hopefully it happens.

My sister, I, and two of my best friends and both of our families used to go to Twinsburg together for a couple of days. Twinsburg is a huge festival where tons of twins and triplets and ect. go and hang out, meet each other, and some put on a talent show. When we get out of high school, we have planned to go to Twinsburg with just the four of us, and we can't wait.

When I was younger my dad, sister and I went to Florida. I asked my dad if I could go look for shells on the beach and while I was on my walk my dad and sister went into the ocean. I could not find where our stuff was nor where my family was. An old lady took care of me, while the police and helicopters were looking for me. Lets just say my mom was not happy that my dad lost me on our first trip alone.

I would really like to take a ski trip to somewhere in the West. I have always loved skiing but unfortunately the only close place to go in Perfect North which hardly counts as skiing. I would especially like to go to Lake Tahoe, but anywhere in the Colorado or Utah area would work.

Even though I didn't go far, one of the funniest "trips" I have gone on was last year to Perfect North Slopes for my first time. I went with two friends who were pretty good at skiing. I thought it looked fun and easy...not so much. Lets just say i fell a minimum of 10 times. I ran into a group of kids who were taking a skiing class (which i probably should have been in) and then literally took out a China dude at the bottom of one slope and landed on top of him. It was embarrassing but I have never laughed so hard.

I would love to go to Italy or Australia. My grandmother is from Italy an my dad was born in Venice, then they moved back to Sydney where my grandfather is originally from. My dad and Papi tell me stories all the time about living Australia, and how different it is than America. My GiGi makes the best Italian food EVER, so it would be neat to experience it on my own someday.

In 7th grade my extended family and I went to Panama City, Florida. The hotel we stayed in was a disgusting hotel to say the least. So, my brother and I made the best of situation and stayed in the car for two nights. My parents didn't really agree with it, but let us do it anyways being they felt as if they let us down by choosing a horrible hotel. We still had fun and got to jump on a huge trampoline in the middle of the ocean, it was an interesting trip.

When I was young, I lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil. One year my family and I went on a trip to the Amazon. We stayed in the Brazilian rainforest in a treetop hotel which we had to share with huge monkeys. If the screen doors to the cafeteria were left open, the monkeys would run in screaming and try to grab all of the food. It was a lot of fun and very adventurous. I got to look for alligators at night, fish for piranha, and hold an anaconda. It was an experience I will never forget and I hope I will be able to return someday.

One of my favorite places in the world is Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Our Scout Troop goes there every couple years to hike mountains and do other high adventure things. This coming summer I am going back hopefully as a crew leader and I will be hiking the remaining two mountains I haven't hiked there. The entire place is amazing and absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to get back.

When i was in seventh grade, my mom took me on a cruise in Mexico. It was such a great time because there was literally everything to do there. We got bargains after bargains in Mexico and we bought countless little items like, an onyx chess set, paper weights, Columbian coffee, and polished sea shells. Also the food was incredible, and i even tried snails at dinner one night.

If I end up enjoying myself in Seattle then i will most likely be moving out there when i turn 18.

When i was in second grade, my family and i moved to Costa Rica. We lived there for two and a half years. I had a great experience in Costa Rica. I loved the country, the culture and the people. Both my brother and my dad have had the opportunity to go back to Costa Rica and visit, but my mom and i haven't. Ever since we moved back to the united states i've wanted to go back there for a couple of weeks. I want to stay in the city where we lived, and visit my old house. After that i want to travel across the country and go to all of the different beaches.

My favorite that I have been on is to Canada. I went with aunts family and my family. When the parents planned the trip we didnt think it sounded to fun. We rented 2 house boats and stayed out on a lake for a straight week. It was so much fun because all we did everyday was swim and fished. We were all by ourselves which I thought I would hate but actually it was so much fun being able to be loud and to for it to be just us.

This is Drew. A trip that my family and i went on was to North Carolina. We were visiting my grandparents in the mountains. I was about 13 and we drove to Grandfather Mountain to hike to the top. At that time I was afraid of hights. My dad told me at the start of the trail to not look down. I had managed to clibe almost the whole way. We had reached the last ladder that led to the very top of the mountain when I saw a hawk gliding at eye-levle. Then, for the first time in the hike, I looked down. I got so frightened that I couldn't climb the last ladder. So I ended up hiking down with my family being the only member not to reach the top. The end.

When i was about 7, my dad took my two sisters and I to Chicago. We were waiting for my dad to get ready as usual. I was playing with my 10 year old sister... i have always been the dominant figure in our relationship. We were playing "fetch" with an invisible bone. I told her to "fetch the bone" she ran into our woods searching for the "bone". Just as she went into the woods my dad came out and yelled at us to get in the car because we were late. My dad didn't realize my sister was missing until we were on beechmont, almost on the highway. He thought i was faking when i was balling that we had left my sister. When he finally realized she was gone we turned back and went home to find my sister on the curb crying thinking that were weren't going to come back. Now that i think back on it, it was the funniest thing that has happened. It may not have been that best vacation but it was that funniest way to start out a vacation.

This is Craig Leugers, and me and my dad and his friend went on a fishing trip to Canada. We stayed there for a week and every day we waould go on the lake for most of the day catching all sorts of fish. However I got pretty bored and kept bothering my dad about doing something else. So to keep me quiet he said that after every hour I could play my game boy for thirty minutes. Needless to say, things got very quiet.

One year we were staying in our house in the outer banks in north Carolina and my little cousin was there. He is really really annoying and spoiled because he is an only child and gets whatever he wants. He had some money his mom gave him and was waving it in front of my face telling me to take it from him. So I proceed to punch him in the face and then take his wallet. I walk out of the room happy, and of course he is crying. My family comes in and asks what's wrong and I just say I did what he asked of me. He cries and I get in trouble. Later I punch him again and then go to bed happy from a good days work of beating my obnoxious cousin silly.

In 2007, my mom and grandmother took me and my friend Michael on a Spring Break trip. We went to Hilton Head, South Carolina. The drive was long but well worth it when we got to the beach. The beaches were clean and the sand was soft. The weather was kind of chilly, and it rained one day. We went to some cool restaurants. My favorite was The Salty Dog. All in all, it has been my favorite trip so far.

My family and I go down to Little Gasparilla Island at least twice a year. The island is located off the west coast of Florida, about half way down the pan handle.
